What are your daily tasks to assist with the physician team?
I take several steps before each treatment to ensure patients are receiving the correct doses of radiation. This begins with preparing patient plans on my planning stations to be run. I check each treatment before therapists begin treatment, assisting them with the tracking modality if they are experiencing difficulty or have questions about a particular treatment.
What aspect of your job do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy coming up with new planning techniques for our patients. I have developed several techniques and have published and presented these at our annual meetings. A contribution I am proud of is the “Hevezi Pad” , a thick patient support pad that we use for some of our patients that allows the arms of the patient to fall below their body comfortably and allows more posterior lateral beams to be used. I also love the teaching aspect of my job and to conduct tours for the hospital of our CyberKnife unit.
