After determining your preferred cancer treatment method, there are a number of factors that may impact which treatment center is the best for you. Patients and their loved ones often consider physician expertise and insurance, but may not know about another aspect to consider – accreditation and certification.
At Austin CyberKnife each treating physician has been through a rigorous CyberKnife® training process to ensure safety and clinical quality. Additionally, our partner team Austin Cancer Centers, is the only cancer center in Central Texas to have earned the American College of Radiology Accreditation.
The American College of Radiology is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 radiology specialists. The organization extends the ACR seal of accreditation to those who represent the highest level of quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting specific practice guidelines and technical standards developed by ACR after a peer-review evaluation conducted by board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
ACR accreditation speaks to not only the expertise of our physician team, but also the level of care our team provides to our patients. For more information on ACR radiation oncology accreditation, view their website.
