Austin CyberKnife announced that Matthew McCurdy, M.D., Ph.D., DABR has joined their cancer care treatment team and will be offering radiation oncology services to patients throughout Austin and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Matthew McCurdy is a board certified radiation oncologist. He completed his medical school and residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. McCurdy also received a Ph.D. in Bioengineering through the M.D./Ph.D. program funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. McCurdy has published extensively on radiation oncology treatments and has presented talks at many national meetings. He received the Young Oncologist Award, Roentgen Research Award, and was named a Top Doctor in 2013 by the International Association of Radiologists.
In his spare time, Dr. McCurdy enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is also a long-time endurance competition enthusiast, qualifying for the Iron Man World Championship and placing in the top 100 in the 2014 Boston Marathon. He also enjoys playing the trumpet, piano, guitar and singing.
