This month is an important milestone for Austin CyberKnife as we recognize the treatment of 1,000 patients since the center’s launch.
The CyberKnife program at University Medical Center Brackenridge originally launched in 2005 and focused primarily on the treatment of brain tumors. Since Austin CyberKnife was established, the center has expanded the clinical applications of CyberKnife to treat other areas of the body, such as the lungs, kidney and prostate.
In 2013 our center expanded collaborations with neurosurgeons citywide to provide multispecialty care for brain tumor patients. Recently, our center participated in the Seton Healthcare Family’s Annual Mock Surgery event to help further healthcare education throughout our community.
We are so proud of the dedication to cancer treatment our center’s healthcare professionals provide.
